Imagine… waking to hints of Snarkleberry Flumpsious wafting up the stairwell, feasting on nibblers at 5 o’clock, and finally, being served homemade chocolate chip cookies and milk before bedtime. Imagine… going to the head of the line at the Aquarium, biking along 17 Mile Drive, strolling along the Bayside Recreation Trail, picnicking on our many beaches and Point Lobos, hiking the Big Sur Coast, and browsing the shops of Carmel. Imagine…”falling down the Rabbit Hole” and finding THE JABBERWOCK—where time now and then moves backwards, “un-birthdays” are celebrated everday,and chasing White Rabbits is encouraged. Imagine … being here. Spend a memory at THE JABBERWOCK ! The Jabberwock, an Arts & Crafts style B&B, is Alice’s Wonderland. Seven rooms with lush gardens and waterfalls overlooking Monterey Bay. In the morning, we’ll entice you with a full breakfast. At 5 o’clock tempting hors d’oeuvres are served on the enclosed sun porch. Then, just before you snuggle under the down comforter and pillows for the night, we tuck you in bed with cookies and milk! Let us pamper you. Come spend a memory with us! The Inn, located in a quiet residential neighborhood, is four blocks up the hill from Cannery Row and has excellent views of Monterey Bay, its own lush terraced gardens, and a waterfall. Lewis Carroll’s Through the Looking Glass and its poem “The Jaberwocky” inspired the name of the inn and its nonsense theme. Breakfast treats such as “Imperial Fiddlestix”, “Phantasmagoria”, and a “Humpty Dumpty” house specialty continue to amuse and delight our guests. Furthermore, recent bemused guests reported having had wonderful conversations with the Jabberwock’s dahlias and roses. Just as they did with Alice in the story, the flowers talk to guests, letting them know that the Jabberwock’s cherry tree “barks” and “boughwoughs” ferociously, when necessary, to preserve our guests’ creature comforts. Imagine that!! And we had thought that the ruckus outback was caused by our barking Monterey Bay sea lions! Do come with Alice into the Jabberwock’s “Looking-Glass” world, where time runs backwards, things are not always as they appear, and every day is an un-birthday!
