Just south of the Lost Coast on a little-traveled section of the Coast Highway, the tiny, forgotten village of Westport perches on a bluff between wooded hills and a hidden beach. The restored 1890 Westport Hotel features six upstairs rooms finished in a Victorian yet airy style, all with ocean views and private baths and some with balconies. Rates from $140 to $195 include sauna use and breakfast: early coffee, scones and fruit every morning and full breakfast Monday through Saturday. The Old Abalone Pub is open for afternoon tea on Saturdays from 3:00 to 5:00, brunch on Sundays from 10:00 to 2:00, and dinner Thursday through Saturday from 5:00 to 9:00.
