The very first California State Fair took place in 1854
with the goal to promote agriculture and to provide a
place where agriculturalists could share ideas and
techniques. While this spirit remains a critical part of
each regional fair, the breadth of activities has
widened to include much more. With carnivals,
livestock, music, crafts, contests and entertainment,
there's many things to see and do for all ages.

recipe and head to the Mendocino County Fair and
Apple Show, September 12-14 in Boonville. There's

Fair in Watsonville being held September 9-14 in

Take a trip to the state capitol in
Sacramento to
celebrate the California County Fair, running August
15
to
September 1. Featuring live thoroughbred horseracing
and
big-name musical acts for all ages. It's a great
vacation
for the whole family. There's many

Get ready for an old-fashioned event at the Lake
County Fair in Lakeport where livestock and home arts

Napa's Town and Country Fair, "Fiesta de Napa," is

State Fair in Paso Robles from July 23 to August 3.
