    Stuffed Croissant French Toast
    French Toast

Amorosa Inn & Gardens, located in Lodi, began life as a 25-acre vineyard and winery. Soon owners added a four bedroom B&B that is a welcome addition to the lush winery. Innkeeper Renae Matson says this recipe is one of their guests' all-time favorites.

    Ingredients:

    • 8 croissants, preferably 1 day old, halved lengthwise
    • 4 eggs
    • 1/2 cup milk
    • 4 bananas, thinly sliced
    • 2 teaspoons sugar
    • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
    • 2 tablespoons butter
    • 8 tablespoons cream cheese

For stuffing: Put cream cheese into a microwave safe bowl and heat 20 seconds, or until softened. In a medium bowl, toss banana slices with cinnamon and sugar; set aside.

For French Toast: In a large bowl, whisk together eggs and milk until blended. In a large skillet or griddle over medium heat, heat 2 tablespoons of butter until foam subsides. Quickly dip each croissant half into the egg batter then transfer to a hot skillet with a slotted spatula; cook until golden brown, about 4 minutes on each side. Cook remaining croissants, adding butter as needed. Transfer cooked croissants to a large dish. Cover bottom slice of each croissant with 1 tablespoon of cream cheese, then a large spoonful of the cinnamon sugar bananas and cover with the top of the croissant. Serve immediately.

    SPOTLIGHT: Family Friendly Getaways
    Dolphin Inn

B&B's are not just for the mature traveler. Many of CABBI's properties are located in perfect family destinations and welcome adults traveling with little ones. So don't worry about finding a sitter - take the whole family along on your next B&B adventure.

Just minutes away from Pacific Grove, in the village of Carmel-by-the-Sea, the Dolphin Inn (above) is the perfect getaway for both parents and children. Book the inn's Family Unit and have plenty of space with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The kids can swim right outside in the large heated swimming pool and the family can enjoy a hassle-free breakfast that is delivered in a picnic basket to your door.

The Bear Valley Inn in Olema has the perfect accomodations for a family stay, including bunk beds for the kids. Step outside and you'll find that Olema is in walking distance to the visitor center at Point Reyes National Seashore.

The more nights you stay, the less you pay at the Inn at Playa Del Rey. Grab your family and take advantage of a great special where two or three consecutive nights will earn you great discounts. Meanwhile, enjoy all the family activities in Los Angeles such as a museum trip or day at the beach.

Stay three nights for the price of two at South Tahoe's Sorenson Resort -- a tree-filled, heavenly getaway for adults and kids (and dogs) alike! Private and charming cabins have room for the whole family and are close to skiing, mineral hot springs, horseback riding, river rafting and the delights of Lake Tahoe.

You can bring your kids -- and pets, too -- when visiting the Old Crocker Inn located just north of Healdsburg in Sonoma County. Situated on a 5-acre ranch, this property was once a hunting retreat owned by railroad magnate Charles Crocker. The whole family will enjoy a dip in the inn's pool and relaxing on the deck while catching a glimpse of the area wildlife. The inn is offering a March special - book two nights during the month and the third night is free.

So be sure to "keep it in the family" for your next vacation and stay at one of CABBI's great family-friendly B&B's!
