Makes 1 Loaf
3 cups self-rising flour
1 (8-ounce) can beer
½ cup half & half or milk
2 tablespoons sugar
½ stick butter, melted
Preheat oven to 325°F. In a large bowl, combine flour and sugar. In a small bowl, mix together beer and half & half. Add beer mixture to flour mixture, stir together until fully incorporated (dough will be quite sticky). Place dough in a greased and floured 9x5x3-inch butter loaf pan. Poke holes in top of dough and drizzle with butter*. Bake 1 hour. Let cool before slicing. Note: Butter overflows while baking, place loaf pan on a baking sheet while cooking to avoid mess.

Did you know that the type of beer you use will effect the type of bread you get? A darker beer will result in a darker bread just as a lighter ale will result in a lighter bread.--Old Yacht Club Inn
