Penon Blanco Lookout is named for the fire lookout of the same name which was built on the highest peak in the area projecting a majestic brown quartz outcrop marveled by John Muir. It is located about 3 miles west of the old gold mining town of Coulterville, which is just 31 miles from Yosemite. The inn is built on a 200 acre working cattle ranch – right on top of a rise of Penon Blanco Road, overlooking Lake McClure. The inn has three spacious rooms featuring antique fireplaces and furnishings, and private decks.
