Family-Friendly Boutique Inns and B&Bs
California inns are not just for mature travelers. There are more than 180 family-friendly CABBI member inns, some of which offer specials or go out of their way to cater to kids. A few inns are highlighted below; many more can be found on CABBI's website.
Santa Barbara’s Old Yacht Club Inn features a three-bedroom Beach House Suite that was designed with families and groups in mind. Easily accessible even without a car, the inn is near many attractions, including the Santa Barbara Zoo and Santa Barbara’s best swimming beach. Families will appreciate the suite’s private enclosed sun porch and yard, as well as amenities that include a full gourmet breakfast. The Old Yacht Club Inn’s Family-Friendly Special is valid for up to six guests in the inn’s Beach House Suite. Book three nights at the inn and the fourth night is half-price; book four nights at the inn and the fifth night is free. This special includes free bike and other equipment rentals, beach towels and chairs, as well as wine and cheese for adults and non-alcoholic beverages for children. Built in 1874 as Ojai’s first schoolhouse, the Lavender Inn is a charming place for a family vacation. The Craftsman-style inn offers eight guest rooms including the private Provence Cottage, which is ideal for families. The cottage features a kitchenette, two TVs and its own backyard complete with a shade tree. Within blocks of the inn lie multiple opportunities for kid-friendly fun, including a park with swings and a slide, a movie theatre and water park.
